Mechanical Lift Configurations

Capacity, Loading/Unloading, and Platform Size Matter

The three mechanical lift configurations, straddle, 4-post, and cantilever, each have their advantages. You will need to determine your necessary load capacity, frequency, and loading/unloading requirements to choose which configuration best suits your project.

Straddle Mechanical VRC Configuration

Best suited for multi-level use, faster speeds and high frequency cycle rates.

The straddle configuration permits the choice of either "C" or "Z" loading/unloading patterns, providing extra flexibility to maneuver loads in the direction desired.

Features:

  • ‘Standard’ Mechanical Straddle (MLS): Lift Capacity up to 6,000 lbs.
  • ‘High-Load’ Mechanical Straddle (MLS): Lift Capacity up to 12,000 lbs.
  • Platform Sizes: Up to 12 ft. wide x 15 ft. long
  • Loading / Unloading: “C” or “Z” loading patterns
  • Very structurally stable configuration
  • Reduces design loads and component wear
  • Provides flexibility to maneuver loads

Cantilever Mechanical VRC Configuration

Best suited for multi-level use, faster speeds and high frequency cycle rates.

The cantilever configuration permits the choice of loading/unloading patterns "C", "Z" or 90° load patterns, used for low overhead clearances and tall loads.

Features:

  • ‘Standard’ Mechanical Cantilever (MLC): Lift Capacity up to 5,000 lbs.
  • ‘High-Load’ Mechanical Cantilever (MLC): Lift Capacity up to 10,000 lbs.
  • Platform sizes: Up to 12 ft. wide x 8 ft. long
  • Loading / Unloading: “C,” “Z,” or 90-degree loading patterns
  • Freestanding models available with optional support structure
  • Allows material movement with the smallest possible equipment footprint
  • May be used where headroom is restricted
  • Provides extra flexibility to maneuver loads

4-Post Mechanical VRC Configuration

Best suited for multi-level use, faster speeds and high frequency cycle rates when moving heavier loads.

The 4-Post Material Lift configuration allows the flexibility to load/unload on any side of the platform. Excellent for large, heavy loads.

Features:

  • ‘Standard’ Mechanical 4-Post: Lift Capacity up to 15,000 lbs.
  • ‘High-Load’ Mechanical 4-Post: Lift Capacity up to 30,000 lbs.
  • Platform Sizes: Up to 12 ft. wide x 30 ft. long
  • Loading / Unloading: “C,” “Z,” 90 degree, or 4-side loading patterns
  • Best suited for lifting extremely large and/or heavy loads
  • Provides maximum application flexibility
