Integrated Horizontal and Overhead Belt Conveyor System for Recycling Corrugated Cardboard

Large distribution companies utilizes central belt conveyor systems to transport corrugated cardboard boxes and cases to a main baling system for recycling. Centrally located conveyor systems within the repacking area stations allow the easy depositing of corrugated case materials by the operators onto the main conveyor belt. The conveyor system is then inclined and allowed to travel overhead out of the way of forklift traffic and other production activities.

Belt Conveyor System to transport corrugated cases and boxes to baling area for recyclingUltimately, this conveyor will discharge the materials in the inlet chute of a horizontal hydraulic baler. The baler is designed to form bales in sizes that will optimize the shipment of these bales to the recycler. The baler can be a manual or auto-tie type depending on volume of the materials for recycling. The main trunk line and conveyor feed lines for the corrugated materials can be laid out to maximize the efficiency and provide optimization on the production floor.

This conveyor system will eliminate the transport of cases and recyclables by portable carts or buggies across the production floor saving time and labor. In addition, overall employee safety is increased by not having to manually transport these materials by portable carts across the distribution floor to the baler as well.

Thomas Conveyor and Equipment can also provide multiple conveyor lines for product-specific materials. Keeping different recyclable materials separate is integral for optimal revenue streams. Multiple conveyor lines to product-specific balers is sometimes necessary for companies to achieve their recycling goals and zero landfill initiatives.

Thomas Conveyor and Equipment integrators can provide the complete conveyor system starting with design optimization including CAD drawings, equipment specification, electrical controls, and final installation. Our focus is complete project management from start to finish. We have completed many of these conveyor lines and have provided our clients with tremendous return on investment.
