Powered Motorized Driven Roller Conveyors - 24 Volt MDR Conveyors

Smart MDR (Motorized Roller) 24 Volt Conveyors and other Accumulation Conveyors are available through Thomas Conveyor and Equipment Company, Inc. This new, state of the art technology, allows for zone-to-zone control through Ethernet/IP communication.

How Does an MDR Conveyor Work?

24 Volt Motorized Driven Roller Smart Conveyor System works in the following manner: The motorized roller connects to the adjoining non-powered rollers using o-rings, timing belts or chains to transmit power to these rollers, creating a zone. Zones are designed based on the product length, with the zones length being as long as the longest product being conveyed. Each zone acts as an independent conveyor within the conveyor system, preforming the function programmed into the roller's drive card.  This is very useful when wanting to create zero pressure accumulation, independently stopping or starting, merging, and transferring of product. These features eliminate the use of metering belts, clamps, stops, and electrical controls required on a traditional conveyor.

24 Volt Motorized Driven Roller (MDR) Smart Conveyor

A 24 Volt Motor Driven Roller Smart Conveyor (MDR) or motor driven roller conveyor sets the standard in material handling flexibility. Its key is the use of a motorized roller that powers each zone or segment of the conveyor.

Belted Motorized Driven Roller (MDR) Conveyor Systems

A belted MDR is a motorized driven roller (MDR) modified with a splined aluminum tube and fitted with an MDR sprocket which allows the roller to drive the belt system.  Belted MDR conveyors are typically used in situations where product cannot be transported accurately on a traditional roller conveyor (i.e., bags, odd shaped bottoms, etc.)
