Thomas Conveyor & Equipment offers a wide variety of Lift/VRC Carriages. Carriage capacity, size and interiors vary in capacity, size, and capabilities based on application requirements.

To protect your material lift, carriage floors and walls are painted and can be protected with galvanized diamond plate "armor". Carriage interiors can be customized with 1/4-armor, 1/2-armor, 3/4-armor and full-armor.
We carry a variety of carriage styles including straddle carriages, cantilever carriages and ArmorCar™ carriages.
ArmorCar™ Carriages
The fully enclosed carriage provides an extra measure of security during the transport of your product, while preventing damage as a result from material or product falling off a standard carriage. New and existing VRCs or can be upgraded to ArmorCar™ carriages. ArmorCar™ carriages come with galvanized tread plate floors and walls, roll-up doors, and an expanded metal roof.

Carriage Guarding
A standard VRC carriage has 42” high pipe rails on the non-operating side(s) and snap chain(s) across the operating (loading/unloading) end(s). The floor of the carriage is typically painted steel plate, with either a smooth or diamond tread.
Optional increased carriage guarding includes:
- Flattened, expanded metal carriage side guards (48”, 60”, 72”, or full carriage height).
- Galvanized tread plate carriage side guards (48”, or full carriage height)
- Painted sheet metal carriage side guards (48”, 60”, 72”, or full carriage height)
- Flattened, expanded metal carriage roofs, used on full load height guarded carriages
- Galvanized tread plate carriage floors
- Carriage mounted gates and load stops are also available.
Carriage Safety Options
SafeLock™ and DeckStop™ systems are available for Wildeck VRCs. These optional carriage locking devices add heavy steel locks to each VRC column to prevent an accidental drop of a raised carriage.
When the VRC carriage stops at a raised level, the system locks the carriage in place either through an automatic (SafeLock) or manual (DeckStop) process.
