In the Material Handling Industry, 24 Volt Urethane Belt Transfers can be very useful in transferring product from conveyor to conveyor or conveyor to machine. The pop up belts are urethane coated to ensure proper grip when product is transferring on top of the belt. UBT Transfers are more preferred than pushers since they can gently move the product from conveyor to conveyor while maintaining the same product orientation.
Because these transfers can be powered via 24 volt, they are energy efficient and easily controllable. Urethane Belt Transfers can be used in a variety of conveyors, including: Gravity Roller, Belt Driven Live Roller, Chain Driven Live Roller, Line Shaft, and Motorized Driven Roller Conveyor.
Urethane Belts are inserted between conveyor roller centers. The amount of belts used (number of strands) is determined by the roller centers and product length. Standard strand count is typically 3 strands, although we have built strand transfers up to 12. The length of the transfer can be any length. They are actuated via photo eyes, solenoids and a pneumatic air.
They can also run bi-directionally, meaning you can transfer off a powered conveyor in either direction. This is a function that is helpful in picking applications when product needs to transfer to either side of the pick module.
UBT are also commonly used in pack and dock sortation areas. UBTs work with numerous products including empty boxes, full boxes, or pallets. They can be inserted in between carbon steel, stainless steel, and food grade conveyors.
Thomas Conveyor also offers Urethane transfer kickers. These kickers are made up of a Motorized Driven Roller coated in Urethane. These are coated in urethane to ensure proper grip to product as well be non-marking. These urethane transfer kickers are helpful when lightweight products are transferred between two conveyors.
The kicker roller is mounted perpendicular and in between the transferring conveyor rollers. They provide extra momentum to get a lightweight or empty carton/box across a conveyor frame. They also help avoid any potential case jams. The Urethane Transfer Kick Rollers can be bought in any width 3” standard up to 51” wide standard. They typically are sold in diameter size of 1.9”.
